Antique Early 1900s French Naive Oil Painting of a House

Antique early 1900s French oil portrait of a victorian house

This charming antique oil painting was made in France in the early 20th century. It depicts a naively painted scene of a large Victorian-style house, rendered in a simple, folk-art-inspired manner. It is painted in oil on canvas and bears the artist’s signature in the lower right corner. The painting is presented in its original wooden frame, which complements its rustic character.

With its unpretentious charm and aged appearance, this little painting would make a lovely addition to a cottage, country house or classic-style interior.

After more than a century, the painting remains in worn antique condition and displays authentic signs of age and use. Over the decades, it has developed a lovely patina that adds to its character and appeal. Please note that the canvas has two small tears, as shown in the photographs.

The antique wooden frame has been carefully cleaned and stabilised, then treated with a clear protective coating to preserve the surface and give it a subtle sheen.
