Antique early 1900s Swiss silver-plated trinket dish

A charming silver-plated trinket dish, made in Switzerland in the early 1900s. Its detailed design depicts the Rütli Oath (Rütlischwur), the legendary oath traditionally associated with the founding of the Old Swiss Confederacy in 1291. According to tradition, representatives of the three original cantons of Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden swore an oath of alliance at the Rütli meadow. The dish is further decorated with the coats of arms of the Swiss cantons.

With its historical subject and decorative appearance, this piece would make a lovely addition to a classic interior or a collection of Swiss memorabilia. It can be used as a trinket dish for coins and jewelry, or repurposed as an ashtray.

After more than a century, the dish remains in good antique condition, showing light signs of wear. Over the years, the silver plating has developed a subtle patina that adds to its character and appeal.
