Vintage 30s French military Mle 1922 marching compass

This vintage compass was produced by Demaria Lapierre in France in the 1930s. Compasses like this one were issued by the French army to their officers.

It features a clever design with a folding cover, an arrow on the underside and a ring on the side, making it possible to hang it on a chain or cord. The side of the compass shows its original serial number: 45279.

The compass would make the perfect gift for the outdoor enthusiast or military collector!

After almost a century, the compass remains in good condition, showing minor signs of wear. The needle still points reliably north. Over time, it has developed a nice patina which only adds more charm to it.
