Vintage 50s Akadem Pickel Meister F. Ralling Fulpmes Ice Axe

This vintage ice axe made in the 1950s by the renowned Austrian maker Felix Ralling in Fulpmes. The model, named ‘Akadem Pickel Meister’, features a wooden shaft and the original maker’s stamp on the blade, and comes complete with its original leather sheath.

A finely crafted piece of alpine history that makes a striking display piece for any interior, mountain cabin or mountaineering collection. Given its age, it is sold as a collector’s and decorative item, not for technical climbing.

After some 70 years, the axe shows signs of age and use, including an oxidized patina that enhances its rugged, authentic character. The wood and metal have been treated with antique wax to protect the surface and give it a subtle, glossy finish.
