Antique early 1900s Spanish oil painting of a bull

When I first received this painting, it was in a rather rough state. The paint was so brittle that I could almost blow it off the canvas. I was afraid its condition had deteriorated beyond saving, but I wanted to give it a chance anyway.

To stabilize the flaking paint, I carefully applied several layers of spray varnish, followed by a few layers of transparent varnish brushed over the surface. This helped secure the fragile paint layer and brought the original colors back to life. The result is a painting with a very distinctive character, in which the rough, cracked surface only adds to its originality and charm, in my opinion!

The painting depicts a Spanish bull standing in a field, rendered in a simple, rustic style on canvas. The lower right corner is signed by the artist: A. Amodeo.

With its rustic appearance and rural subject, the painting would make a charming addition to a cottage, country house or even a traditional steakhouse. Please note that I am also offering a matching painting by the same artist.
