Vintage 1960s French Leather Canadienne Coat
This leather coat was made in France in the 1960s. Known as a Canadienne, named after the coats of Canadian woodsmen and trappers, this classic French design was made to withstand harsh winter conditions and was also worn by the French army. It features a detachable sheepskin lining and collar, combining practical cold-weather protection with a timeless, rugged appearance.
Not only is it a comfortable and warm winter coat, but its sturdy construction and distinctive design also give it plenty of character. A great piece for anyone who appreciates traditional workwear and vintage outerwear.
After around 60 years, the coat remains in worn vintage condition, showing multiple signs of age and use. Over the decades, the leather has developed a lovely patina that only adds to its character and appeal. Please note that the coat has several small tears in the leather, a small rip in the inner lining and a missing button on the collar, and one of the front buttons has been replaced. These imperfections are all part of its well-worn history and are reflected in the price.
